Who Doesn’t Love A Runway Playlist?

Ring the alarms, you lingerie loving creatures. The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show airs TONIGHT on CBS. Yes, modelizers, this is your time to shine. I say it every year and I’ll probably stay standing on this same soapbox until I see it again but I await the day that The Model returns to VS’s runway. If you used to watch the show back in the early 2000’s when Gisele, Tyra, Karolina, and Adriana were the queens of the runway, you know exactly what I mean by my aforementioned remark. While most of those sublime creatures no longer walk this runway, VS is headed in the right direction by elevating the likes of Behati Prinsloo, Jasmine Tookes, Taylor Hill, and Sara Sampaio.

PS: Joan Smalls is still underutilized but there’s always next year, no?

The show, which was filmed in Paris for the first time, has always stood out for their music choices. While there are some sensational musical performers this time around (Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars and The Weeknd), I’m holding out for a hero and that hero comes in the form of a brilliant fucking mashup. 2005’s remix of Bodyrockers’ “I Like The Way”? 2008’s mashup of Chris Brown’s “With You” with Bryan Ferry’s “Slave To Love”?

Come on! These are the musical moments that turn the show from a primetime special to a primetime event.

That being said, here is a playlist of tracks that would be absolutely perfect for the show. It includes Gaga (“John Wayne” was made for this), Meghan Trainor for the PINK section, James Arthur for a more romantic section, Seeb and Jacob Banks for the grand finale.

If you walk the earth like you’re on the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show runway, this is the playlist for you.
